The Phantom:
A Publishing History in India

Egmont published yet another series of albums in July 2003, called The Adventures of the Ghost Who Walks. Each album contains two stories reprinted from the Comic Series, and add 7 new stories that had not previously been published in India. These books are essentially the same as the Action Adventure Series -- the same size, printed on glossy paper with card stock covers, with a reduced price of Rs.85 each (68 pages), and mostly the same stories. A total of 15 volumes were published simultaneously. Volumes 1-11 reprint all the stories published earlier in the Comic Series (including the extra story from the 2nd edition) -- the only difference is the cover artwork, which again is a Photoshop construction combining the original cover artwork from Sweden. Volume 12 consists of Nautilus (published earlier) and St. Lucifer of the Darkness which appears for the first time in India. Volumes 13-15 are the only books to exclusively contain new stories. An index of their contents is shown in the table below - the Comic column refers to the Comic Series issue in which each story was previously published.
