Buoyed by the success Frew were experiencing with The Phantom, they launched a new compilation comic in about November 1950. Published monthly, Super Yank Comics were primarily a showcase for Catman, but The Phantom was featured as a back-up character in most editions, along with Halar the Cave-Man, and Planetman. The first issue of the series did not include a Phantom story, preferring to thrill audiences with the memorable adventures of Kid Eternity! Each issue ran for 24 pages and initially had a cover price of sixpence, but increased to eightpence with #4. The Phantom stories in each issue ran for between 7 and 13 pages, and most were serialised across several issues. The Phantom made his first appearance in issue #2, and remained for all other issues except #6. Issue #7 was not published as the Phantom story was used as an emergency fill in for FREW's The Phantom comic. The series lasted 19 issues before it was cancelled in about May 1952. The last two issues of the series were sold with an eightpence cover price, even though The Phantom comics had risen to ninepence. It is worth noting that although the words "Super Yank Comics" appeared on all of the covers, the main cover title seemed to vary throughout the series: #1-#9 "COMICS", #10-#17 "CATMAN", and #18-#19 "SUPER YANK".

Notes:
- All of the Phantom stories printed in this series had not previously appeared in Frew's The Phantom comic, but most were reprinted there several years later.
- The Blue Gang was subsequently reprinted in the Giant Size comics, but then disappeared from Frew's print schedule. It was not to appear again until after 1988 when Jim Shepherd commenced the policy of reconstructing complete versions of the old stories.
- The Marshall Sisters in #17 was the first Frew appearance of the story but only the second half was printed. The first half was published a couple years later in Frew's The Phantom #66 (January 1954). These two half stories were thereafter treated as individual stories until the complete version was reconstructed for #1148.
